Virtually identical to the original, it features adjustable back, wide canted arms, curved horizontal back slats, narrow spindles and includes Quadralinear post construction for the oak version. Dark copper hardware makes a dramatic statement on this space saving, solid oak cellarette of Roycroft design. The Roycroft community, 1895-1938, was founded by Elbert Hubbard in East Aurora, New York. Like Gustav Stickley, Hubbard was greatly influenced by a visit with William Morris during a trip he took to England. Roycroft furniture was made of mahogany, ash or fumed oak, and each piece was clearly identified with the Roycroft symbol, a double barred cross enclosing an R. We are pleased to reissue some favorite and treasured Roycroft pieces; each will bear the identifying shopmark Roycroft by Stickley.

This Stickley table is an original design by Elbert Hubbard of the Roycrofters of East Aurora NY. circa 1905. The Roycroft mark was first used by Cassiodorus, a monk who lived in the middle ages. He was one of the first book binders and on every book he illumined and bound he placed his mark, which was the cross and circle representing Utility and Infinity. Available in oak and cherry.
